the moors textile

SPRING/SUMMER 2023

This textile is made of repurposed fabric scraps, and inspired by the rich colors and textures of the Heather Moorlands of Yorkshire, England. Driving through the sprawling valleys of moors, I was surrounded by vivid purples and greens in the vegetation and sky. I experimented with different types of pleating techniques, hand sewing, distressing and hand dyeing to replicate the layered organic feeling of looking out onto the uninhibited land.
