FREE PEOPLE

INTERN FINAL PROJECT

SUMMER 2026

I spent the summer of 2026 as a design intern on Free People Structured Woven Bottoms team. For my final project, I was challenged to find a “white space” to address. I noticed an expressed need for more femme city pants, and I was inspired to pitch the Free People Festival capsule collection, “Weathered Arboretum”. Pulling inspiration from the dense textured applique and lacing details of Roberto Cavalli’s Y2K, aged botanical wallpaper, and the vintage lace drapes. I aimed to create a festival wear with sophistication and the “Free People twist”.

2025 CASE STUDY

Free People is one of my personal favorite brands in terms of aesthetics, function and price point. I was inspired to create a capsule collection for their denim and structured woven category. I enjoy designing for the Free People customer who appreciates clothes which reflect her creativity and practicality.
