During my apprenticeship Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, NY, I was sponsored to design and construct one look showcasing the skills I honed. Because I specialized in leather work and evening gowns, I challenged myself to show these very different two sets of skills in one design using silks and leather. While designing the corset and bodice I was inspired by antique baseball gloves and football gear. In the bias draped chiffon skirt I was inspired by John Galliano’s work for Dior in the early 2000s.
