demi couture corsetry

SPRING/SUMMER 2024

In my junior year at Drexel I had the opportunity to take a couture techniques class taught by an incredible mentor and designer, Ornella Santoni. I learned traditional couture techniques including how to properly fit and construct a corset. I also learned how to work with silk textile, beading, and lace. My final for this class is ivory silk dupioni corset and skirt set with distressed appliqué and quilted padding. This look was inspired by the skills I learned in my couture class and the protective nature of sportswear padding.
